Acceptance

Every person wants acceptance, whether they realize it or not. Most of us have experienced rejection at some point in our life and the pain that comes with it. The difficult thing about being a christian is rejection seems to be amplified when we are living according to God’s will. The Bible tells us that we will face persecution because of Jesus, but how do we deal with it?

If you look to the world for answers you might find yourself trying to get back at the people who rejected you, but that is not how the Bible tells us to react. Ephesians 6:12 says, “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” This verse goes into great detail, but in a nutshell this verse is telling us that our battle is not against the person rather what is inside of that person. So when we face persecution and rejection for being a christian we must remember, our battle is NOT against the person. When we realize this, it enables us to continue loving people regardless of what they do, because we realize that it is what’s in a person that is causing them to act that way.

One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:19 which says, “creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” Then verse 22 says, “we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.” I love these verses because they are telling us that creation is eagerly waiting to see what a child of God looks like, whether they realize it or not.

Every time you face persecution or rejection from people think of it as their inner man groaning for the love of Jesus to be revealed through you. All of creation was created by God and for God. Inside every person is a longing to know the Lord in a personal way, because that is what we were created for. The answer to the worlds problems lives inside us and He wants to flow through us anywhere and everywhere.

Remember your lifestyle should not conform to what every one else is doing, rather imitate the life of Jesus. This may mean facing rejection from people, but we must stand firm in who we are as Christians. Remember because of Jesus we have God’s favor and we are accepted in the beloved. If we are accepted how can we be rejected?

  1. Amen. Friend in light of what you said I really want to quote some verse from
    The World Hates the Disciples
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ John 15: 18-25
And Christians, we are called to be his disciples, so I firmly believe that if we are true to the faith, and also practice them, we will suffer persecution but we will do it with a smile, and we can also appeal to God the father in our last moments, what Jesus said on the cross” father, they do not know what they are doing, please forgive them” Hallelujah.
